Privacy Policy

TipOut (“we”) helps you keep track of the hours you work and the tips you earn. This policy explains what the TipOut app collects and how it’s used.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and, if you give it, your first name. If you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email from Apple.
• What you log: shift dates, hours worked or clock-in and clock-out times, card and cash tips, sales, tip-out, shift type, hourly wages, and your pay-period and app settings.
• Receipt layouts: if you scan a checkout, we save which printed line holds which number (for example “Non-cash tips”), so the next scan fills in automatically.

Receipt photos

When you use Scan receipt, the photos you take are sent over an encrypted connection to our AI provider, Anthropic, to read the numbers, and are then discarded. We don’t store the photos, and Anthropic doesn’t use them to train its models. Only the numbers you confirm are saved. Checkouts can show other information, such as your name or your restaurant’s; it isn’t kept.

What we don’t collect

We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we don’t sell or share your data.

How it’s stored

Your data is stored with our database provider, Supabase, and only your account can access it. It’s sent over encrypted connections. Account emails, such as email confirmation and password reset, are sent through our email provider, Resend.

Deleting your data

In the app, open Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and every shift you’ve logged.
